Some students only smoke in certain circumstances of life, or only use certain types of tobacco products (like cigars, hookah, or pipes). Many students are surprised that it is harder than they expected to go without tobacco and that they have actually started to move towards an addictive relationship. MAKE A DEAL (M.A.D.):
Regular smokers can also enter this category, if they are not ready to "QUIT FOR GOOD!" (see above). You can 'make a deal' with us, to reduce your tobacco use. Some ideas are: Commit to smoking only in the designated areas on campus, make your home and car smoke free, or to reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke per day by a set amount. All of these 'deals' are small steps, that can help move you to a healthier place with tobacco. Smoking even 1 less cigarette per day has health benefits!
